Tito My historical Hero and his first bulletin.

Friday, 23 May 2014

"The greatest enemy of the freedom and independence of our people is German Fascism, then all its other fascist hangers-on who are engaged in marauding up and down the country. Consequently, it is the bounden duty of all patriots to fight mercilessly until the Fascist bands are destroyed to the last man" - Josip Broz Tito, bulletin number one of the GHQ, peoples liberation detachments of Yugoslavia.

The partisan resistance was a unique development in Yugoslavia. Unlike other movements, this was not run by one ethnic group, which mostly fought for the interests of that one group. Rather, this group fought for all Yugoslavians and was the first multiethnic movement. Their patriotic heroism and honourable treatment of all noncombatants gained them support and respect from all, including Yugoslavs most opposed to communism.
